16 Jan Float through implant dentistry
Are you in need of replacement teeth? Perhaps you are about to lose another tooth, or have already lost so many that you can no longer pretend that something doesn’t need to be done about the gaps in your mouth. Or perhaps you have just lost one or two teeth but they are right at the front of your mouth and you now have unsightly gaps. Whatever the reason for needing replacement teeth, at Dental Beauty Islington in North London, dental implants can restore your smile and your mouth function.
If you have already been thinking about getting dental implants in North London, then you may have read up about the procedure, and it may be scaring you a little, or maybe it’s making you feel too anxious to contemplate going through with it. After all, there’s drilling involved and many people feel anxious about having drilling done.
At Dental Beauty Islington, we understand how anxiety-inducing the idea of having dental implants in North London can be, but we also know the life-changing transformations that can occur when people get them fitted. That’s why we are very happy to give you sedation. And that’s why we also want you to understand the implant process and that, because there are fewer nerve endings in the jawbone than in the teeth, getting dental implants fitted is a lot less painful than, say, having root canal therapy.
Sedation options
We have two forms of sedation here at Dental Beauty Islington, and will talk you through both of them during your consultation.
Oral sedation
This is a tablet that you take about an hour before surgery. It will make you very relaxed and floaty and it will gradually wear off after surgery.
Intravenous sedation
Administered through the back of the hand straight into your bloodstream, this sedation method is more powerful and can also be adjusted as we work on you, should it need to be. You will be deeply relaxed and may even fall asleep, but we will be able to rouse you if we need to talk to you.
You will need someone to take you home after having dental implants fitted.
