How to preserve a knocked out tooth

Firstly clean the tooth and gum using your own saliva or milk. This may feel counterintuitive, but actually your spit will clean and preserve the tooth better than anything else. Secondly, push the tooth back into its socket if your can. If not, either put the tooth between your teeth and cheek or put in milk. Never put in water as this will damage the tooth.
