21 May Can I call my dentist when I’m in pain?
Toothache and sudden pain are often very debilitating, but many of our patients struggle on through their day, just taking pain killers to try and numb it out. However, if you do suddenly experience pain it is important to contact us as your emergency dentist in Islington. There is no need to ‘put up’ with pain, especially when we know that this can be indicative of something going wrong that requires treatment as soon as possible. At Dental Beauty Islington we are happy to receive emergency calls and we will try to fit you in as soon as possible on the same day.

Causes of tooth pain
Sudden tooth pain could be caused by an abscess that has become critical or other infection in the gums or teeth. It is very important to have this seen to as soon as you can and not to allow the pain to continue. Leaving infections could lead to more long-term problems, so don’t hesitate to contact us. Other sources of pain can be chips, fissures and cavities, and although this may not be classed as an emergency, please do still call us for advice. We can offer information on pain relief, alleviate any worries or stress and book you an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible.
Suffered an injury? Contact your emergency dentist in Islington now
If you or a loved one has had an accident that has damaged a tooth, knocking it out or chipping it badly, it’s important to see us on the same day. A knocked out tooth can often be fully restored, especially if a few simple steps are carried out.
How to preserve a knocked out tooth
Firstly clean the tooth and gum using your own saliva or milk. This may feel counterintuitive, but actually your spit will clean and preserve the tooth better than anything else. Secondly, push the tooth back into its socket if your can. If not, either put the tooth between your teeth and cheek or put in milk. Never put in water as this will damage the tooth. Call your emergency dentist in Islington.
After all emergency appointments you will then receive follow up appointments to continue treatment if needed.
